There are icebergs grounded near the harbour mouth, the caplin are rolling, our seabirds have finished hatching, the humpbacks are offshore, and our days are longer and nights warmer (okay that one's a stretch but I live in hope!) For a Newfoundlander, all are sure signs that summer is here! And while icebergs may not make you think of summer, I hope that every one of you has recognized the harbingers of the season in your neck of the woods.

Since becoming CREA President at the end of March, I've had the chance to travel and meet so many of you. It's been my favourite part of the job. I've heard you talk about market conditions in your cities or towns, the evolving realities of being a REALTOR®, the challenges, frustrations and rewards. I've heard you talk about the deep satisfaction you derive when you facilitate that magic fit between the right property and the right buyer. We are a fortunate profession because for the most part, we love what we do!

It's been a busy spring at CREA. Material to help you comply with new Anti-Spam legislation has been developed and made available (take a look if you haven't already, because this year July 1 wasn't just Canada Day, it also marked the first day the new rules are in effect). FINTRAC compliance material was also developed and posted on REALTOR Link®, the new and improved is up and running, a very successful PAC Days has come and gone, the REALTOR® Action Network is growing, (but please join if you haven't already), and we're gearing up for the dotREALTOR domain coming online in the fall.

I look forward to getting out to meet more of you over the summer and into the fall. On behalf of the CREA Board of Directors and staff, I wish you a successful and enjoyable summer. And as we say in Newfoundland, "Long may your big jib draw!"

WEBForms® - CREA's most popular member product just got better

CREA WEBForms® is set to introduce Document and Transaction Management to its suite of services. These add-on services will provide CREA members with access to all their past kits that can be transferred, as well as present transaction kits, making it easier to manage wherever you are.

The release of Document and Transaction Management follows a long list of enhancements over the past year, including eSignatures, commercial real estate forms and the Transnational Referral Contract.

According to a national member survey on CREA products and services from last January, WEBForms® was identified as the product members found to be the most "Important." In fact, 90% of members indicated WEBForms® as an important member benefit, while 80% use the service frequently. Both numbers topped all other CREA products.

"With this level of member support behind us, we will continue to invest in WEBForms® to ensure that our members have access to the most useful functionality such as eSignatures and secure document management to make paperwork easier," says Mary Van Buren, CREA's VP of IT Services and Marketing.
