Home sales activity broke records and got all the attention in 2020, but last year also emphasized the importance of having a safe space to call home, and REALTOR.ca continues to be Canada’s go-to trusted real estate platform.
According to the recently published 2020 REALTOR.ca Insights Report, REALTOR.ca was visited by 73 million visitors—an increase of 45% from 2019, which made for the site’s most significant traffic increase to date. Although REALTOR.ca is already considered to be Canada’s No.1 real estate platform, the site’s market share also grew by 15%.
With 374 million site visits in 2020—an increase of 29% compared to 2019—REALTOR.ca’s strong performance demonstrates consumers’ continued trust in the REALTOR® brand. Let’s look at some numbers to see how REALTOR.ca worked for you in 2020:
- REALTOR.ca visitors looked at property pages 1.7 billion times, an increase of 73% from 2019. That’s an average of 196,000 property views per hour!
- There are more than eight million REALTOR.ca accounts, and that number continues to grow by about 36,500 new accounts each month. REALTOR.ca account holders are twice as likely to convert into a lead.
- REALTOR.ca sent four million leads to REALTORS® through the Email a REALTOR®, Email Office, and Phone a REALTOR® buttons in 2020, up 38% from last year.
- Visitors looked at REALTOR® profiles 11 million times in 2020, an increase of nearly 24% from 2019.
- Visitors engaged with video/virtual tours almost 29 million times! In 2020, 25% of all listings included a virtual tour or video, up from 15% prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
- With the need to adapt to physical distancing measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, REALTORS® embraced the opportunity to add live streams to their listings. Visitors attended or RSVP’d to nearly 50,000 live streams in 2020.
