With the winter session of parliament kicking off earlier this week, stakeholder groups are already busy competing with one another for face time with Members of Parliament (MPs). What’s often overlooked is the opportunity to have similar discussions when those MPs swap their offices on Parliament Hill for their constituencies during parliamentary break weeks. It’s in that spirit that CREA’s Government Relations team is proud to launch Political Action Committee (PAC) at Home 2020.
PAC at Home meetings are an opportunity to show MPs how REALTORS® are active members of their communities, as well as trusted experts on all things real estate. Establishing relationships with MPs enables REALTORS® to provide input on policy and legislation that benefits homeowners and prospective home buyers, as well as the entire housing continuum.
PAC reps are integral to CREA’s advocacy efforts and reminding MPs that housing in Canada isn’t just an abstract idea: it has a tangible role in the communities they represent. The knowledge REALTORS® can share with MPs will also help them better represent their constituents.
PAC at Home 2020 will take place during parliamentary break weeks in February and March 2020, with resources available on REALTOR Link®. To participate in PAC at Home, contact your local real estate board.
