CREA is pleased to announce that Ron Antalek has been honoured with our Canadian REALTORS Care® Award 2020 Proudly Presented by REALTOR.ca. Ron Antalek is a second-generation REALTOR® with more than 30 years of experience. He is also a prominent philanthropist, committed volunteer and mental health advocate in his community of Maple Ridge, British Columbia.
In 2006, Ron personally donated $1 million to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, in tribute to the local hospital where his mother had worked as a nurse and where he has seen many members of his family benefit from great health care. Ron’s transformational gift was instrumental in the creation of the Antalek Family Psychiatry Unit at the Ridge Meadows Hospital as well as the launch of Foundry Ridge Meadows, a youth wellness centre located within the community. His public support of these initiatives also kickstarted valuable conversations within his community about the importance of mental health.
Ron has proudly served on the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Board of Directors since 2009 and has been its Chair since 2012. Numerous other charities in Ron’s hometown of Maple Ridge have also benefitted from his leadership and generosity, including Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services, Cythera Transition House Society and Ridge Meadows Hospice Society.
