Mark your calendars: CREA’s annual Political Action Committee (PAC) Days is going virtual for 2020! This important multi-day event, which amplifies the REALTOR® voice on Parliament Hill, is taking place on Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6.
Over the last five months, Canadians have renewed their relationship with the concept of home. PAC Days is your opportunity to engage directly with elected officials on issues that matter most to your clients and what you’ve been hearing in your community.
When a REALTOR® meets with their Member of Parliament while the House of Commons is sitting, they bring the constituency to Parliament Hill. This show of support helps drive home the work CREA staff does year-round to make progress on advocacy issues. These efforts have resulted in the inclusion of an entire chapter on housing in the most recent federal budget, which announced the expansion of the Home Buyer’s Plan and the launch of the First-Time Home Buyer Incentive.
Virtual meetings with Members of Parliament will be booked by CREA’s Government Relations team on both October 5 and 6, while programming featuring prominent political figures and journalists is scheduled for Monday.
Since 1985, CREA has hosted PAC Days in Ottawa; however, this year’s event will operate in a virtual landscape as we continue to follow the advice of health officials in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
More details about this year’s event will be released in the coming month.
