Each year, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) puts on the largest event for REALTORS® to share and explore highlights from across the industry, international insights, and key advancements to business practices. Since it wasn’t exactly possible for team members from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) to attend in person last year, as would usually be the case, this year’s event marked a return of some normalcy as several CREA staff and members of our Board of Directors made their way down to San Diego, California for the hybrid event. With more than 10,000 people in attendance, more than 200 of those from Canada and more than 250 exhibits, the event was a great way back into the international real estate conversation.
Canadian Delegate and Global Affiliate reception
On opening night, CREA hosted an event to bring together our Global Affiliates and REALTORS® from Canada to network, build connections, and learn more about international real estate markets. More than 200 people attended the event and our team was happy to welcome our CREA Global partners for some long-awaited facetime.
Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation courses receive high honours
CREA was awarded the honour of being named “CIPS Course Provider of the Year” for courses focused on doing business in the real estate industry in various countries and regions around the globe. CREA’s team successfully hosted more than 15 courses virtually since late 2020. These aim at helping REALTORS® in Canada and real estate professionals abroad, develop the knowledge and networks required to position themselves and grow their businesses internationally.

Jill Oudil, CREA’s Chair-Elect and Sharon von Schoenberg, Manager Global Strategy and Relations spoke to the group about updates in the Canadian real estate market and our Global Affiliates program which connects international real estate professionals with REALTORS® in Canada.
