Community Spirit and Unity on Display During REALTORS Care® Week

REALTORS® in Calgary volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Charities® Alberta for REALTORS Care® Week. They served up some home-cooked meals for families residing there and set up the North Pole Experience just in time for the holidays.

During the week of November 14, hundreds of REALTORS® from more than 35 real estate boards and associations across nine provinces and one territory came together in their communities to support housing and shelter-related charities.

The REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) brought local members together for a Build Day with Habitat for Humanity for REALTORS Care® Week.

While REALTORS® are instrumental in making a difference in their communities year-round, the fourth annual REALTORS Care® Week offered a unique opportunity to unite behind the shared value of community spirit.

REALTORS® in Kingston joined Lionhearts Inc., The Food Sharing Project, and the Morningstar Relief Mission Inc. to sort, pack, deliver, and serve food for those in need.

Throughout the week, REALTORS® found meaningful ways to contribute to organizations that serve some of the most vulnerable members of their communities. The long list of REALTORS Care® Week initiatives included pairing affordable housing units, preparing care packages for those experiencing homelessness, bringing the holiday spirit to families far from home, distributing meals to community members in need, collecting essentials for shelter clients and raising much-needed funds, amongst others.

“Throughout the year, REALTORS® support causes close to home and are instrumental in making a difference in not only their communities, but others as well,” says Jill Oudil, Chair of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). “But this year’s REALTORS Care® Week really showed how dedicated our members are to giving back and being there for those who are encountering challenging circumstances, especially ahead of the holiday season.”

Members of CREA’s Board of Directors, members of the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee and leadership from the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation came together to assemble 200 essential care kits with Dixon Hall.
