New Brunswick is the latest province to feature sold data on select REALTOR.ca listings.
The Atlantic province joins Nova Scotia—who, on April 2, became the first to allow the option of showing historical sold data—as early adopters of the new option.
Starting May 27, all new REALTOR.ca listings in New Brunswick will include sold data going back to January 1, 2009.
“I am so proud that my home province is one of the first to provide sold data for REALTOR.ca. The consumers have told us time and time again how much they would value this information,” said CREA President Jason Stephen. “We need to keep our consumers informed and allow every REALTOR® to be front and centre in the transaction. I believe valuable information like historical sold data is key, so it’s only fitting we offer it on the No. 1 real estate website in the country.”
The option to include sold data in listings is being rolled out across Canada over the next several months. The data won’t automatically show up on all listings as boards and associations have the choice to opt in or not, so long as they ensure they’re complying with any applicable provincial or federal privacy legislation.
CREA will continue to consult with boards and associations before allowing the data to be displayed on REALTOR.ca.
