Election 2019 – Promoting REAL Ideas for Homeownership

The 2019 federal election period is in full swing. With housing top-of-mind for many Canadians, this is our moment to advocate for the policies and solutions REALTORS® know will make a real difference.

To help REALTORS® advocate for homeowners, buyers and sellers, CREA has launched our election website, realideas.ca. Here, you will find a page called REAL Ideas for Homeownership, created in consultation with REALTORS® from across Canada. These policy proposals include recommendations related to housing supply, rules and regulations, affordability and debt reduction—all meant to help more Canadians achieve the dream of homeownership.

You will also find information on each federal political party’s platforms. On this page, we have summarized each party’s commitments as they relate to housing. A link to each party’s full platform, if they are available, is also provided.

We have also created a series of shareables to help get the word out that REALTORS® have ideas to help Canadians achieve homeownership. These images, each formatted to be ideal for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, each depict a part of our advocacy work on behalf of homeowners, sellers, and prospective buyers.

Election 2019 is happening on October 21. Be sure to visit realideas.ca, learn about our REAL Ideas for Homeownership, and make sure you help us keep homeownership top of mind for Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
