Taking a Deep Dive into Operations at CREA

The numbers are in! From January to June 2022, many of our products, services and publications continue to see growth with our more than 155,000 members, and consumers.

To start, it’s impossible to talk numbers without mentioning Canada’s No. 1 real estate platform, REALTOR.ca, which has delivered more than two million leads to REALTORS® across Canada – including leads generated by the REALTOR.ca DDF® advertising websites and partner sites.

Keeping the ball rolling, our national ad campaign re-launched, running from mid-February to mid-April, with great results. Thanks to this campaign, REALTOR.ca saw more than 195K site sessions!

Overall, REALTOR.ca is enjoying a boost with year-over-year increases in site sessions, leads, and market share.

That’s not to mention social media, where REALTOR.ca channels steadily gained followers, thanks to new approaches in video content creation, a successful influencer campaign, and consistent brand messaging.

Our REALTOR® focused blog, CREA Café, continues to gain momentum as a place REALTORS® can turn to for: the latest real estate industry news; upcoming courses and events; and business building tips and insights.

Meanwhile, News2Me, your monthly email newsletter, chock-full of highlights and key industry updates has risen in popularity, boasting an increase in open rates of almost 10% across both its French and English iterations.

CREA’s social platforms have also experienced steady growth in 2022! Continuing to incorporate a mix of content formats, added value for members, and infotainment, into the formula has garnered positive results.

We’d be missing one of the biggest indicators of progress if we didn’t mention CREA’s advocacy efforts!

In April, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland tabled “A Plan to Grow Our Economy and Make Life More Affordable”. As anticipated, this budget is heavily focused on addressing the housing crisis in Canada and acknowledges the importance of housing to both individual Canadians and the Canadian economy. This Budget highlights the impact and success of consistent, unified, and disciplined REALTOR® community advocacy over the last number of years.

We also finalized our 2022-2023 committees. We appreciate the importance of bringing diverse backgrounds and experiences to our committees, as we want the composition of our committees (and our Board of Directors) to reflect the wonderful diversity of our membership. This year, to better reflect our ongoing commitment to environmental, social and governance responsibilities, we updated what was formerly the “REALTORS Care® Committee” to the “Environmental, Social, and Governance Committee”.

In March, we launched a fundraising appeal in support of those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. While the campaign is still active, to date, REALTORS® and their communities have raised more than $506,000.

REALTORS® across Canada continue to show up for their communities, and we continue to promote those efforts under the REALTORS Care® umbrella. The growth on REALTORS Care® social media platforms suggests that inspiration is building!

The REALTOR® community continues to use CREA’s Learning Hub for professional development, help with technology, products and services, legal and compliance-related topics.

With just under six months left in 2022, we’re looking to finish the year strong with even more great content, training, events, tech updates, and more.

With that, make sure you’re following us on social (CREA, REALTOR.ca, and REALTORS® Care), subscribe to our podcast, and make sure you’re opted into our newsletters, so you don’t miss a thing!
