Highlights from the NAR Conference: Networking, Advocacy, and Global Partnerships

Earlier this month more than 15,000 real estate professionals, including more than 300 REALTORS® from Canada, gathered in Anaheim, California, for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) NXT, The REALTOR® Experience conference.

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) was proud to host a booth and the Great Canadian Road Trip – Expo Stop in the global networking area, which offered REALTORS® an opportunity to share insights on their local markets and make connections with international real estate professionals. A big thanks to all the REALTORS® who volunteered their time and expertise as Canadian ambassadors during the conference!

More than 450 real estate professionals attended the Canadian and Global Partner Reception.

CREA also co-hosted the Canadian and Global Partner Reception, which was supported by RBC U.S., and co-hosted by five U.S. global councils, including, Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®, MetroTex Association of REALTORS®, Austin Board of REALTORS®, Hudson-Gateway Association of REALTORS®, and West & SouthEast REALTORS® of the Valley. The event brought together more than 450 real estate professionals from around the world together, including those from Ireland, Brazil, Portugal, and the Philippines.

During NAR’s Global Business Alliance Committee Meeting, CREA’s Chair-Elect, James Mabey, and Sharon von Schoenberg, CREA’s Associate Director, Global and Commercial Programs provided an update on the Canadian housing market, our advocacy efforts, and the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act (Foreign Buyer Ban).

CREA was proud to take part in the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) pinning ceremony. This year’s ceremony honoured more than 720 CIPS designees, including Georges Gaucher, CREA Regional Director, Québec. Next year’s NAR conference will take place on November 8-10, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts.
